Accountant
Introduction
A global advisory firm, with offices across the U.S., U.K., Germany, Brazil, Singapore and South Africa, is seeking an Accountant with 2 -4 years experience to join their team in the SA office, located in Centurion.
Job Summary
In this role, you will be working with the accounting and operations team at a litigation dispute consulting firm. You will add value to our team by having strong analytical skills, great attention to detail and excellent prioritization skills. This position requires you to be a person with strong interpersonal, communication and technical skills.
Major Responsibilities:
Demonstrate understanding of revenue recognition principles and take ownership of monthly revenue generation process and accounts receivable process including billing, collections, and write-offs.
Monitor bank accounts daily to record and apply cash receipts to outstanding accounts receivables.
Own the accounts payable process, starting with coding of invoices, preparing payment schedule for review and entry of authorized disbursements.
Perform weekly cash reconciliation.
Responsible for Timesheet and Expense report collection, review and posting.
Assist with month-end close cycle including bank reconciliations, month-end workpapers, and financial statement prep & analysis.
Provide support internally during the annual audit process and manage communication with external auditors.
Develop work plans and coordinate the successful completion of routine, ad hoc, analyses and projects under supervision.
Manage centralized Accounting and Billing email accounts, the focal point of department communication.
Perform miscellaneous administrative duties as needed.
Qualifications / Requirements:
Bachelors degree in business, accounting, finance, or economics, preferred.
2+ years of relevant work experience required.
Business experience in corporate billing/accounting preferred
Comfort working with debits and credits and willingness to expand current skillset.
Strong analytical, technical, and critical thinking skills
Demonstrates ability to stay organized & focused while working with competing deadlines.
Great attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrates ability to thrive while working in a team environment.
Desire to grow within role and take on new tasks and responsibilities.
Experience in Deltek Vision or Thomson Reuters 3E is a plus.
Experience in Concur or Chrome River is a plus.
Advanced Excel skills are preferred.
Foreign language skills a plus
