EY's Strategy and Transactions (SaT) practice offers strategic corporate clients and private equity clients professional transaction advice and services, from the strategic analysis phase of the transaction lifecycle, through execution, to transaction inteagration. We help clients determine the right deal to do, and then assist them in doing the deal right.
Within SaT, Minvest teams advise our clients and the broader EY on a variety of issues concerning mining investments, mineral resource estimations, technical reviews, mineral asset valuations, financing and strategic options within the minerals, and oil and gas industries. The Minvest team is a specialised team of experienced technical professionals including environmental scientists, petroleum engineers, geologists, mining engineers and chemical engineers. We currently have an exciting new opportunity for different mining professionals with different levels of experience based in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Your key responsibilities
The role is client facing and requires multi-commodity experience. In the role the applicant will be required to execute on proposals, project management and timeous invoicing. The role may require travel from time-to-time to remote locations. The role is suitable to a person who has gained experience at a mineral processing plant or metallurgical plant.
Skills and attributes for success
The role will require a firm understanding of the mining and/or oil and gas industry with technical or consulting experience in the following, but not limited, disciplines:
Operational or Design Process Engineering related experience within the mining and/or oil and gas industries.
Understanding of metal accounting
Exposure to Technical Due Diligence and Reviews.
Excellent communication skills including report writing and presentation skills is a MUST.
Utilise your expertise to conduct a full range of process engineering functions.
Strong project management skills.
Team player and Emotional Intelligent,
Willing to work in a high-pressure environment.
Willingness to travel to remote locations
To qualify for the role you must have
As a minimum a Bachelor's degree in a related discipline such as Chemical Engineering or Metallurgical Engineering.
2 years relevant practical processing experience at a mining operation or consulting company.
Strong interpersonal and communications skills, with the ability to building internal and external networks.
Strong computer skills including MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and general report writing skills
