Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Accountant to join our reputable firm of chartered accountants in Alnwick. As an Accountant, you will play a crucial role in providing a range of accounting services to our clients. Your responsibilities will include financial statement preparation, tax compliance, management accounting, and advisory services. We are looking for a dedicated professional with a strong attention to detail, excellent analytical skills, and a thorough understanding of accounting principles and regulations.



Responsibilities:


Prepare financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, in accordance with accounting standards.

Perform general ledger reconciliations and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.

Assist clients with tax compliance, including preparing and filing tax returns and advising on tax planning strategies.

Provide management accounting services, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

Conduct financial analysis and interpretation to support decision-making processes.

Assist in the preparation of business plans, financial projections, and feasibility studies for clients.

Stay updated on relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and industry developments.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing proactive and personalized accounting advice.

Collaborate with colleagues to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.

Participate in professional development activities to enhance technical knowledge and skills.

Requirements

Requirements:

Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Professional qualification such as ACCA, ACA, or CIMA is highly desirable.

Proven experience working as an Accountant, preferably within a chartered accountancy firm.

Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards.

Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Office applications, particularly Excel.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple client engagements simultaneously.

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.

Strong organizational and time management abilities to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.

Integrity and professionalism in handling confidential and sensitive information.
