Our client on the South Coast of KZN has an exciting opportunity available for a qualified & experienced Financial Accountant who will be responsible for providing financial & management accounting support to their property development company & utilities services business.
Key Performance Areas:
Prepare & present timely & accurate monthly management accounts, including profit & loss statements, balance sheets, & cash flow statements for both the property development & utilities services businesses
Develop & maintain financial models & forecasts to support business planning activities for both businesses
Analyze financial data & provide insights to business leaders to help inform decision-making for both businesses
Manage budgets & monitor actual performance against budget on an ongoing basis for both businesses
Prepare & submit statutory compliance returns, such as VAT, PAYE, & income tax for both businesses
Manage the day-to-day financial operations of the businesses, including accounts payable & receivable, payroll, & cash management
Preparation of the monthly costing model, relating to residential units being built & sold, & raising of journal entries
Preparation of ad hoc & monthly financial packs & CAPEX tracking schedules, for the purposes of management, Exco & Board meetings
Liaise with external auditors & other stakeholders as required both businesses
Continuously identify areas for improvement in financial processes & systems, & implement changes as appropriate for both businesses
Requirements:
CIMA qualification
10+ years' relevant experience
Working & practical experience of the principles of Standard Costing, Absorption, & Variable Costing
Strong knowledge of IFRS, the accounting equation (debits & credits), & financial reporting requirements
Experience working in the property development & utilities services industries would be an advantage
Proven ability to manage budgets & financial operations
Excellent analytical & problem-solving skills
Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel
Experience with accounting software, such as Syspro, would be an advantage
Ability to comfortably report to multiple stakeholders
