BOOKKEEPER

Introduction

A finance and accounting firm located in Germiston is seeking a Bookkeeper with at least seven years' experience within a Bookkeeping role to join their team.

Job Purpose

As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, preparing financial statements and handling intercompany loan accounts and transactions between our group of companies.

Education and Experience Required

Education required

• National Senior Certificate
• Diploma or Degree in Accounting or Finance

Experience required

• Minimum of 7 years of bookkeeping experience
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks

• Validation of Highest Level of Education

Responsibilities and duties

• Maintain accurate financial records, including bookkeeping, reconciliations and journal entries.
• Ensuring timely payments and collections of accounts payable and receivable.
• Prepare and analyse financial statements and reports.
• Assist with budget preparation and forecasting.
• Maintain compliance with tax laws and regulations including submission of returns.
• Assist with audits and other financial reporting requirements.
• Provide support to the accounting team as needed.
• Manage intercompany loan accounts and transactions between our group of companies.
• Reconcile intercompany balances and resolve any discrepancies.
• Prepare intercompany invoices and ensure proper recording of intercompany transactions.
• Perform any other duties required that could be expected from the position.
