Are you looking for an exciting Internship in 2023?
During the Intern programme you will have the opportunity to work closely with your buddy and subject matter experts. Throughout the Internship you will become fully immersed in our business and experience Gallagher Re. In addition, you will have the opportunity to interact with senior leaders through the Speaker Series and take on a research project.
Most importantly, you will be set formal learning goals providing you with invaluable feedback that will serve you well as you complete your studies. Ultimately if successful you will have the opportunity to take part in our Gallagher Reinsurance Achievement Programme (REACH) provides a 2-year, tailored development plan, with the aim of accelerating your career in the Reinsurance industry.
The Intern programme is offered between June-August 2023.
Your Role:
- As an Intern you will be immersed in all aspects of front line modelling work for our insurance clients from early in your career
- Aid handling CAT Modelling requirements for the division
- Support modelling projects and establishing processes and automation as required
- Learning and use catastrophe modelling software
- Support in synthesis, presentation and explanation of catastrophe model results to clients and internal collaborators.
- Working on model-building and researching on the underlying science to develop custom 'perspective on risk' and innovative analytics solutions in support of the business requirements
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
- Working towards minimum 2:1 degree with Engineering/ Natural Science / Physics/ Geo-Science background
- Interest in insurance & Reinsurance business
- Strong IT skills, ideally with computer programming skills (eg. SQL, VBA, R)
- Knowldge of underlying perils science and model components
- Strong communication skills and the competitive aim to achieve
- High-reaching, keen to make a difference and forge a career whilst improving the service of key clients
- Strong planning and analytical skills
- Accurate with high attention to detail, thriving on outstanding customer centricity
- Good Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
- Eligible to work in the UK.
