About the opportunity
The Fonterra Internal Audit vision is to safeguard the Co-Op through leading trusted and objective assurance. Our team supports the business to manage key risks by providing an independent view of business controls.
The Internal Audit Manager will work with a broad stakeholder group, including regular engagement with Directors and General Managers across the globe.
As a key contributor to the team, you will manage the scoping and delivery of projects. Your key responsibilities will include:
Please note that while this role is based in Auckland it does require both national and international travel. On average you may travel once a quarter, and this can include two to three international overseas assignments per year where you will be away for approximately two weeks at a time. The incumbent will need to be comfortable traveling as and when required.
About you
You would have gained audit and commercial experience through working in either a CA or commercial environment managing end-to-end internal audits and reviews for complex organisations.
In addition to your technical knowledge, you navigate ambiguity with ease, can think on your feet, and have a great "make it happen", agile mindset. The ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders is essential. You will be an excellent communicator, being able to build trusting relationships with Commercial and Managing Directors.

- Lead and deliver audits and advisory reviews.
- Support stakeholders through the audit process, ensuring a positive experience with a value-add approach.
- Promote the understanding and profile of Internal Audit across the Co-Op.
- Participate in the delivery of strategic plan initiatives.
- Undertake ad-hoc projects including investigations.
Please note that while this role is based in Auckland it does require both national and international travel. - Recognized tertiary and professional qualification (CPA/CA/CIA).
- Manufacturing and distribution experience.
- Proven experience in designing and executing fieldwork, and reporting writing to high quality standards.
- The ability to clearly communicate key audit findings and provide recommendations to our stakeholders.
- Robust Project Management and time management skills which includes being resilient and enjoys working in a team.
- Willingness to travel regularly - nationally and internationally.
- Work experience in delivering a risk-based and enterprise risk methodology.
