Darlington or Middlesbrough (working from home 1 day per week)

An exciting opportunity to join the Audit and Accounts team of this successful local firm of accountants. Based out of either their Darlington or Middlesbrough office, you will play a key role in the delivery of year-end accounts and statutory audits for a portfolio of interesting clients, whilst also managing a team.
Main responsibilities include:
Reviewing accounts and audit assignments covering various industry sectors and clients
Working with colleagues to plan accounts and audit assignment scope
Managing the development and performance of your team
Working closely with senior staff to ensure clients' needs are met
Providing routine tax, accounting and general commercial advice to clients
Preparing accurate working papers, financial statements, tax returns, and client files
Ensuring accounts and audit assignments are progressed and completed within budget
Undertaking monthly billing tasks
We're looking for:
An ACA or ACCA qualified accountant
Experience of working in practice and working with owner managed business and SMEs
Familiarity with both audit and accounts preparation
Experience of leading, coaching and developing a team
A first-rate communicator
Happy to travel to clients and sees the value that this face-to-face contact can bring
