Your new role
As the Finance Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial stability and growth of our organization. You will be responsible for managing a small team of three, overseeing the day-to-day financial operations, and providing strategic guidance to the Director of Finance on an exciting new multimillion-pound project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of three finance professionals, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Prepare accurate and timely management accounts, transitioning from a quarterly to a monthly reporting cycle, to provide crucial financial insights to the organization.
  • Conduct investment profiling and analysis to optimize the organization's financial resources.
  • Review contracts and procurement processes, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and regulations.
  • Evaluate existing financial systems and processes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Finance to support the successful execution of a new £20-30 million project, providing financial expertise and contributing to project planning.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of company financial statements, adhering to regulatory requirements.


What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven experience in a finance management role, ideally within the non-profit sector or a similar environment.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Proficient in preparing management accounts and financial reporting, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Sound knowledge of investment principles and experience in conducting investment profiling.
  • Familiarity with contract review and procurement processes, ensuring compliance and value for money.
  • Excellent analytical skills, coupled with the ability to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Knowledge of financial systems and proficiency in relevant software tools.
  • A passion for the organization's mission and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the local community.
