Your new company
Hays Senior Finance are currently supporting a small but growing organisation based in Malvern with the recruitment of a Financial Controller on a permanent basis.

My client operates in a niche market and, having gone through a period of exciting change recently, they are looking to bring in an experienced and forward-thinking Accountant to help drive the business forward.

Your new role
In this newly created role reporting directly into the Managing Director, you will work in a standalone capacity and provide financial management and strategy for the company to support its continued growth plan.

Main duties:

  • Production and review of monthly management accounts
  • Production of draft statutory accounts
  • Manage the reporting of financial information both internally and to external Accountants
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Oversee all cashflow movements
  • Manage inventory reporting, inventory days, provisions and oversee stock process
  • Responsibility for the production, review and improvement of customer profitability analysis
  • Prepare and submit capital expenditure requests
  • Review of general business and accounting systems
  • Review of current processes and drive efficiencies
  • Provide commercial analysis and support to the business
  • Lead and develop start-up business in the Republic of Ireland

What you'll need to succeed

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with post-qualification experience
  • Previous experience in a similar financial management or controllership role
  • Strong technical and commercial accounting skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to challenge and influence
  • Comfortable being hands-on with a 'sleeves rolled up approach'
  • Computer literate - good Excel skills and working knowledge of finance systems (Xero highly advantageous)
