Purchase Ledger Team Leader -Nottingham - £30,000-£35,000

A rapidly expanding client, based in the construction industry is keen to recruit a Purchase Ledger Team Leader for its site in Nottingham. This is an exciting role to manage the team and be able to implement changes and improvements inside of your department. This is a terrific opportunity for someone who has a good understanding of the purchase ledger function and has also lead finance teams.

Due to continuing success of our client, there will be progression opportunities within the company, which will include the potential to benefit from study support. This is a dynamic role which will allow for regular visits to company depots to ensure that onsite finance procedures are adhered to.

Responsibilities:

Lead, mentor, support and motivate a team of Purchase Ledger Clerks to achieve their targets
Carry out regular team appraisals, highlight any staff knowledge deficiencies and implement training
Manage team workload, ensuring invoices are processed accurately
Closely monitor accounts to ensure cash flow is maximised with supplier accounts been paid in the agreed upon timescales
Review/Manage new supplier applications in line with the company’s policies
Respond to and resolve complex matters in relation to invoices or any outstanding queries
Ensure the purchase ledger policy and payment cycle is being followed
Attend management meetings as required
Ensure Supplier are paid to agreed terms
Instigate and lead projects that support developments and improvements in existing processes
Reconcile month end accounts to Trial Balance and assist in the purchase ledger invoice accrualRequired Skills & Experience:
Previous team management experience inside a finance role
Previous purchase ledger experience, ideally with foreign currencies exposure
Understanding of VAT and how this related to purchase invoices
Computer literate with a good working knowledge of Excel
Excellent communication skills with the ability implement changes and improvements
