Payroll Officer
Urgently seeking a Payroll Officer to join the Christchurch office on a 6 month temporary, part-time basis.
About the company Providing support to over 200 people with intellectual disabilities and their families across the Canterbury region, the focus is to ensure people are able to live a meaningful life of their choice.
About the role An opportunity to take responsibility for the processing of payroll, remitting payroll taxes and IRD reporting. You will also be responsible for preparing monthly, quarterly and year-end payroll statements, while ensuring you are following government regulations and company policies. Immediate start available.
This role is a 6 month temporary opportunity, 25-30 hours per week. Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday of payroll week are compulsory, however other hours flexible.
Key responsibilities
Use of payroll systems for fortnightly end-to-end processing of staff payroll, ensuring all pay-roll cut off times are met
Collecting, calculating and entering data to ensure all payroll information is correct
Resolving payroll discrepancies and answering any employee payroll queries in conjunction with the HR advisor
Key requirements
Proven experience in end-to-end high volume payroll environment
Experience with roster systems
Excellent knowledge of the most recent payroll legislation
Systems savvy - MS Excel, Word, IMS Payroll system or similar
High attention to detail, with great oral and written communication skills
Possess a flexible and adaptable outlook
