Job Title: Senior International Tax Accountant

FLSA Status:  Exempt

Department: Tax

Reports to: Manager, Taxation

GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PURPOSE:

The Senior International Tax Accountant is responsible for researching and analyzing foreign tax law changes and requirements. Prepare and/or review the International tax compliance such as Canadian GST/HST/PST and Mexico, Australia, Finland, UK, Brazil, Germany, India VAT/GST filings, completion of government regulatory audits and external financial statement audits on any foreign tax items/issues. This role will also prepare/review foreign tax account reconciliations to ensure accuracy of tax filings, Federal Schedule M income tax computations having foreign tax elements and foreign tax adjustments including Foreign Tax Credits, GILTI, FDII and BEAT. This position will be responsible for other foreign issues/requirements dealing with foreign jurisdictions, filings and other assignments as needed.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Ownership of the indirect tax compliance process
  • Capacity for handling multiple tasks while meeting strict deadlines and maintaining accuracy.
  • Competencies in basic tax research skills.
  • Ability to understand and calculate the depreciation on foreign-based assets with currency translations.
  • Working knowledge of Global transfer pricing laws, OECD regulations and BEPS reporting requirements.
  • Knowledge of International Tax rules and associated forms.
  • Familiarity with International year-end tax provision computations and ability to assist tax members in successful completion of this important annual project.
  • Preparation/review of U.S. International tax forms and ability to adhere to strict deadlines imposed by the IRS.
  • Prepare various workpapers for external providers in the preparation of various foreign owned (CFC, Disregarded Entity, US Branch, etc.) operations’ Statutory local jurisdiction tax filings.
  • Prepare/review of various U.S. International tax filings regarding controlled foreign corporations, foreign limited liability companies, foreign disregarded entities and foreign limited liability partnerships.
  • Ability to interpret and comply with international statutes, regulations and legislation.
  • Monitor International tax law changes for applicable countries (India, Australia, Finland, Brazil, Mexico and Canada) with focus on developing beneficial or risk minimization tax planning.
  • Confidence in researching a tax topic, taking a position or making a conclusion utilizing written skills to prepare a position paper supporting such position/conclusion.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting

CPA preferred

Master’s Degree in taxation a plus

Experience: 8 Years+ International Tax experience, or equivalent combination of General Tax experience plus International Tax experience/training/education

*12+years or equivalent combination of education and experience
