A company based in France is employ a Temp Accountant. This will be a remote (work from home position) Duties:
- Assist the Finance Manager Group Reservations (GR) in constantly monitoring and updating financial systems
and internal control systems;
- Provide support to the Finance Manager GR for the effective management of the finance and administration
operations of centralized Great Plains sales company;
- Ensure that the accounting records are accurate, reliable, and up to date, highlighting variances;
- Ensuring that all accounting transactions are appropriately captured and approved within the terms of
delegation of authority mandates;
- Compilation of weekly creditor payments schedules and review of requests for payments before submission to
the Finance Manager GR;
- Monitoring of account payable reconciliation and payables ledgers;
- Maintaining relationships with suppliers and ensuring suppliers' accounts are up to date;
- Providing support for the Strategic Manager Reservations in the capturing of trade receivable remittances and
following up on unallocated and suspense receipts from customers;
- Assisting with the distribution of monthly customer statements;
- Month end management account reconciliations including:
- Performing bank reconciliation;
- Reconciling intercompany accounts;
- where necessary reconciliation of trade term debtors's balances
- Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to the payables control account
- Reconciling Great Plains Foundation control account
- Any other reconciliations that will be required
- Assist with the annual budget and forecast preparations;
- Assist with the annual financial audit;
- Any other reasonable task as requested by the Finance Manager GR

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION
- Matric;
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting or relevant experience;
- Computer Literate; experience with advanced excel would be beneficial;

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in the Travel Industry would be beneficial;
- At least five years experience in an accounting role;
- Experience in the account payable function;
- Ability to work under pressure;
- Must have worked in a multi-currency environment;
- Strong bookkeeping skills with clear understanding of debits and credits;
- Ability to foster and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
