You will be working for a Construction Company, providing contracting services throughout the UK. Based in Harrogate. The ideal candidate will exhibit excellent communication skills, and have an ability to take initiative, and prioritize daily tasks.

Reporting directly to the Directors of the business, this role will suit a commercially minded person who can actively contribute to the day-to-day operations and month end reporting requirements.

You’ll be responsible for project reporting, including work in progress and missing costs analyses, working closely with the Project Team to ensure accuracy within the project management platform.

Other responsibilities will include the preparation of profit and cash flow forecasts on a regular basis, supporting PMs in day-to-day operations, budgeting and all of the usual month-end procedures such as fixed assets, accruals, prepayments etc.

Main Responsibilities & Duties

* Managing and maintaining the accounting records (Xero),

* Analysing financial data, monitoring expenditure, forecasting revenue, coordinating processes, and ensuring accuracy of financial information.

* Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and reports,

* Prepare and provide commentary of analysis for Directors.

* Oversee and action the smooth running of Accounts Payable & Receivable function, hands on whenever necessary

* Control & completion of Month End process

* Ownership of Balance Sheet Reconciliations

* Overhead review, analysis, and comparatives with improvement recommendations

* Preparing and filing of quarterly VAT returns

* Preparing and filing of monthly CIS returns

* Cashflow and payment run management

* Implementation of all necessary transaction process, policies, controls, and procedures

Ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant or QBE, with a strong background in project reporting, WIP and experience of the Construction Industry Scheme.
