This role will provide essential challenge and support on all financial matters to the council's major capital projects and ensure to achieve the best value for money from the schemes and investments.

Current projects include significant regeneration of:

Housing estates
Development of an SPV
Innovative new build schemes including the council's own offices
Other major infrastructure improvements across the boroughAs an experienced accountant, this position provides you with the opportunity to shape and help drive forward the council's new initiatives.

Key duties will include:

Supporting the Council's services to enable them to achieve their business plan and objectives, (enabling high-quality decision making, conducting commercial appraisals, financial modelling and reviewing investment opportunities).
Working closely with external advisers on multi-disciplinary project teams to ensure the council's interests are protected and its overall financial position is optimised
Ensuring tax implications are identified and efficient treatments adopted.
