Service Charge Accountant / Financial Accountant

Hays Accountancy & Finance, are pleased to be supporting a Norfolk-based organisation in their search for a Group Service Charge Manager who are also offering flexible hybrid working.

Your new role
In the role of Service Charge Manager / Accountant you will be responsible managing the delivery of their service charging for the group which will involve their new builds, re-let charging as well as rent setting. Therefore we are keen to speak to candidates who have experience of service charging across housing or commercial lets as the organisation will invest in training and on-going support for you to be successful.

The key aspects of your duties will involve setting service charge budgets, producing accurate statements and ensuring all cost are allocated to the correct service charge nominal codes so relevant internal reports can be produced. As Group Service Manager you will also have overall responsibilities of managing any consultation procedures with tenants, leaseholders, shared owners and freeholders with regarding services. You will also work closely with the Asset Management team to monitor fund balances as well as the wider finance teams, Housing and future development plans.

What you'll need to succeed
Ideally you will have experience of service charging within social housing however we will consider candidates who have transferable skills from the commercial property rental / property asset sectors.

You will be responsible for managing a team therefore staff-management experience would be preferred however if you have experience of service charging and looking to step into a managerial role, this could be the opportunity as you be supported by the Senior Management team.

It will be expected that you will have experience of various accounting systems, good level of Excel as well as reconciliations skills and have confident communication skills as you will interact with various departments and external bodies.

The organisation offers a flexible hybrid-working model therefore they are open to your home location provided you can attend meetings in Norwich or other offices based across Norfolk. They offer a competitive salary of circa £40,000 - £45,000, hybrid working, generous holiday package and pension scheme.
