The Finance Manager will support the growth of the company though end to end Finance Business partnering ownership for certain business areas and additionally support across all finance deliverables for our Financial Controller. This role is a critical position in helping us deliver the financial results that support innovative investment projects in food production and minimising environmental impacts. We are excited about growing the future of sustainable agriculture, great planning and provision of timely insight will be key to our success.

The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, with great all-round finance understanding and analytical skills to help shape our business. In return the role offers a superb development opportunity working across a diverse business with ambitious growth plans, at the cutting edge of a vitally important industry. This role is initially on a 12 month fixed term contract with an opportunity for a permanent contract.

This role is based predominantly in our spacious, modern offices on the beautiful Nocton Estate, 20 minutes South of Lincoln and will be a part of our Finance team, with some travel to other business locations.

 

What the role is about

  • End to end business partnering responsibility for key business areas. P&L, Balance Sheet & Cash forecasting.
  • Production of monthly revenue and profitability forecast reporting.
  • Ownership of investment appraisal for key growth projects.
  • Ownership of annual budgeting cycle.
  • Development of insightful wider business reporting using PowerBI.
  • Identifying areas of improvement & automation in financial processes and working with Business Analyst and wider team to deliver solutions to implement.
  • Support Financial Controller in developing and maintaining financial policies and procedures to ensure regulatory, and best practice compliance.
  • Develop best practice and ensure consistency and documentation in finance processes across all teams.

 

What you need to demonstrate

  • Fully qualified accountant either ACA, CIMA or ACCA, with minimum 5 years PQE.
  • A strong business partner with a high level of interpersonal skills who can interact with and earn the confidence and trust of a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Previous experience of Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash with demonstrable evidence of improving business results.
  • Experience of dynamic forecasting and budgeting cycles.
  • Previous experience of investment appraisal and reporting return on investment.
  • Demonstrable commercial acumen.
  • Experience of being a part of a team that has delivered business process improvement to achieve better business outcomes.
  • Up to date, working understanding of accounting principles and insightful financial reporting, PowerBI expertise is particularly relevant.
  • Excellent communication skills, notably the ability to explain financial and business concepts simply.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships across all teams within the business.
  • Organised, driven, able to prioritise and meet tight deadlines with a strong ability to self-manage.
