Payroll Specialist (Contract)
About the Company:
Our client, a leading company in the horticulture/ consumer goods industry, is currently seeking a Payroll Specialist to join their team on a contract basis from
5th June to 8th September 2023.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Payroll Specialist to work with a reputable company that operates multiple businesses within the group.
Based in an easily accessible area of Newmarket and with some flexibility to work from home.
About the Opportunity:
Each business in the group operates their own end-to-end payroll, and with 2 Payroll Specialists going on extended annual leave, we are looking for someone to keep payroll running!
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the end-to-end payroll processes for approximately 250 employees (shift workers, salaried staff, and waged employees)
Reconcile payroll records and ensure accurate and timely payments to employees.
Respond to employee queries and provide advice on payroll-related matters.
Maintain accurate payroll records and produce regular reports on payroll data.
Collaborate with other HR and finance team members to ensure that payroll processes are integrated with other systems and processes.
Keep up-to-date with changes to relevant legislation and company policies that may impact payroll processes.
Qualifications and Experience:
Due to the nature of the businesses, the payrolls are quite manual and require someone experienced in dealing with large amounts of data and multiple business units. The successful candidate will need to have excellent attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work independently.
At least 3 years of experience in payroll processing or a related role.
Strong knowledge of NZ payroll legislation and regulations.
Experience using payroll software (Datapay, MYOB, IMS Payroll)
Excellent attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
