Assistant Accountant
Biggleswade

Monday to Thursday 08:30 to 17:00, Friday 08:30 to 16:30
Assistant Accountant required for a successful food manufacturing company. This is a great opportunity to join a company who work with leading food and retail brands who are going through an exciting period of growth and expansion.
The successful Assistant Accountant will need experience in a similar role but can come from any industry background. You will need experience of balance sheet reconciliations and strong knowledge on accruals and prepayments. You will have experience of Sage 1000 maintenance and setting up GL codes and period end closes. The ability to prepare board pack reports for Capital Expenditure is also required.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Finance Manager and Finance Director in providing a financial support service to the company and ensure all legal regulatory requirements are met.
The Assistant Accountant Role:
• Accruals and prepayments – creating journals, allocation, and reconciliation
• Review P&L for coding errors, anomalies etc.
• Record transport and parcel costs
• Oversee utility payments – submitting gas meter readings
• Review agency staff costs
• Sage maintenance including the setup of GL codes, Period End close, VAT analysis, sales regions
• Coding and verifying invoices
• Maintain fixed asset register
• Processing BACS payment for purchase ledger
• Account analysis for query resolution, annual audit, budgeting etc.
The Successful Assistant Accountant Candidate:
• Experience of balance sheet reconciliations
• Knowledge of accruals and prepayments
• Able to prepare board pack reports for Capital Expenditure
