Our Northampton based client, a market leader within the IT Managed Services industry are currently seeking a Senior Accountant to join them in their Finance Team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to jump straight in to the day to day accounting operations.

The perfect candidate will have an accounting background with some experience in a high-growth technology company and who will bring innovation, efficiency, and a positive outlook.

What You Will Be Doing

Support the monthly closing of the general ledger including analysing and interpreting account fluctuations and monthly/quarterly reporting
Champion monthly variance analysis, reconciliations, tests of accounting data integrity
Preparation of monthly management accounts and management reporting, including analysis and commentary
Working with the wider business to maintain and review budgets and forecasts
Review accounting transaction documentation for completeness and accuracy; identify and work to resolve accounting issues and variances.
Oversee the customer billing & cash receipt processing
Undertake financial close procedures for the month end, including intercompany balance reconciliation.
Assist with preparation of statutory accounts at year end
Assist with budget to actuals monitoring
Assist in ongoing development, documentation, and testing of internal controls
Support local and global finance teams with ad-hoc projects as they arise

Skills

A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with at least 2 year of experience post-qualification
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or related field with significant Accounting coursework
Previous experience in full cycle accounting in a SaaS or tech company is a plus
Excellent knowledge and application of UK and EU GAAP Principles
Highly organized & detail oriented
Great communication skills and is comfortable communicating with customers via email and phone
Some knowledge of process improvement methodology and business process management techniques
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to forge effective relationships through all organizational levels and with customers
Able to operate effectively & efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Ability to implement processes and controls to ensure data integrity
Able to research accounting issues and write memos
Passionate about leveraging technology and experience implementing financial software to automate accounting and finance processes
Experience in Netsuite, Charbee and Salesforce is a plus
