Experienced Finance Manager with Credit Controller experience?

Were looking for an exceptional Finance Manager to join us at Direct365 and be part of our success. If youre a qualified accountant with a recognised accountancy qualification, senior financial management and credit control experience, and live in or near Skelmersdale we want to speak with you! These are essential requirements for this position.

In this role, you will be responsible for the leadership, management and control of all Finance and Credit Management activities for Direct365. As a member of the Direct365 Leadership Team, youll contribute to the overall strategy, direction, growth, and profitability of Direct365. Direct365 is based in Skelmersdale, and candidates are expected to live within easy travelling distance of the office. We operate a hybrid working policy, but the Finance Manager should expect to spend most of their time in the Skelmersdale office. There will be a limited requirement for national travel.

Responsibilities for this role include:

Leadership
  • Leadership, management and motivation of the Finance and Credit Control teams
  • Development of talent and proactive management of performance
  • Setting and monitoring of key KPIs rewarding success and addressing challenges
  • Recruitment of new team members
  • As a member of the Direct365 Leadership Team, contribute proactively and professionally to the overall performance and profitable growth of the business

Finance
  • Overall responsibility for all the timely and accurate delivery of local financial activities including: - Accounts Payable, Cash Flow Optimisation, Management Accounts, Period and Year End Reporting, Purchase Ledger, VAT, and compliance
  • Providing guidance and support to the Managing Director to secure the orderly and profitable development of the business within the framework of the Direct365 business plan
  • Providing proactive and meaningful financial analysis, input and advice on both operational issues and commercial decision-making; including commercial review of pricing policy, business cases and capex requirements, and the subsequent tracking of costs and benefits
  • Providing incisive and user-friendly management information to allow fact-based decision-making.Present management reports in a consistent, cohesive, and comprehensible way, both in written and formal presentations
  • Interpreting variances and trends in financial data and relating these to operational performance
  • Preparing the Companys periodic trading reviews and board reports and presenting meaningful results to the Direct365 Managing Director and Group Managing Director for Specialist Businesses

Credit Management
  • Managing the credit cycle, ensuring it is appropriate for the business and is working effectively. Update it when required.
  • Produce high quality, accurate regular and ad hoc reports showing the performance of Credit Management in the Business
  • Manage cash collection to terms and consistently deliver budgeted DSO
  • Apply appropriate resource to the credit control campaigns, each time ensuring that all customer debts are included in the appropriate stage of the process
The ideal candidate
  • Qualified accountant with a recognised accountancy qualification.
  • Broad financial management background in a business-to-business service organisation.
  • Maintains and demonstrates financial awareness through current knowledge imparting an appreciation of the financial consequences flowing from commercial decisions, internal policy changes and other external factors.
  • Experience of sustaining profitability, quality and service standards using key performance indicators and ratios to identify potential issues before they materialise.
  • Understands the key business drivers that contribute to value.
  • Demonstrates commercial awareness and understanding, without compromising financial conduct.
  • Ensures that business opportunities are appropriately evaluated to minimise risk and sustain/improve profit margins.
  • Continually seeks opportunities to streamline administrative functions realising financial and operational benefits.
  • Helps in setting stretch targets for the business whilst providing the right support and mentoring to attain them.
  • Provides incisive and user-friendly management information, meaningful financial analysis, input and advice to Company colleagues and senior management to assist with operational issues and commercial decision making.
  • Whilst a recognised financial expert, contributes constructively and collaboratively towards the development of strategy and policy across the full range of business issues, not just its financial dynamics.
  • Communicates positively to colleagues about agreed policies and changes.
  • Has an open and honest approach to ensure that the right messages are cascaded to the senior management team.
