Expro Group are currently recruiting for a Project Accountant within our Subsea Department, in Aberdeen.

Overall Purpose of the Job

To primarily provide project finance support to Subsea Well Access projects, including initial setup and planning of each project, managing actual costs and preparing cost to complete, working on a day to day basis with the project team. Liaise with and report findings/issues to Finance Controller.

Key Activities and Accountabilities

• Ensure that all financial transactions are undertaken in a timely manner and that there is full compliance with company policies, procedures and in line with legislative requirements.
  
• Work as part of each project team on the planning and execution of each project budget. This includes establishing target costs, the AFE setup, reporting spreadsheets, etc.
  
• Once underway, monitor spend against budget, understanding the variances and the reasons for them. Question the project manager as appropriate.
  
• Interface with Engineering department to understand % complete vs % spent, to review total expected labour costs.
  
• Understanding the invoicing triggers on the project and assisting in preparing sales invoices.
  
• Understanding the revenue recognition for the project in line with IFRS 15.
  
• Prepare forecast reports on revenue and costs on a monthly basis.
  
• Assist in preparation of the month-end close to meet strict Group / Business Unit reporting deadlines
  
• Check data between systems to ensure accuracy and review any discrepancy to achieve full compliance
  
• May assist with debtor / cash management and fore casting
  
• Keep records up to date for audit purposes and assist with gathering information for auditors as required
  
• Ensure full compliance and approval as per company policies and ensure compliance with appropriate legislation in place at time of action.
  
• Produce the required Management reports are per timetable and ensure accuracy. Investigate any discrepancies and discuss cause with related Management
  
• Liaise with internal and external departments as and when required to ensure all aspects of finance processes and reporting is accurate, in compliance with company policies and procedures and in line with legislative requirements.
  
• Liaise with team members, internal and external departments as and when required to ensure all questions and queries are resolved in a timely manner. Liaise with manager on any issues or concerns with the documentation to be processed.
  
• Any other adhoc duties as required.
  

Job Knowledge and Qualifications

• Project reporting experience essential.
• Good interpersonal & analytical skills.
• Confident in questioning & dealing with all levels of personnel.
• SAP knowledge and advantage.
