Group Audit & Assurance (GA&A) provide independent, objective and commercial risk focused assurance to the Board Audit Committee to assist the Group in securing and enhancing the financial wellbeing of its stakeholders.
The department consists of over 120 professional audit personnel who conduct internal audit, credit portfolio assurance and retail network assurance reviews group-wide. The team works closely with senior management and staff across the business, including Line 1 and Line 2 risk management, and external auditors. GA&A provide feedback to management on improving their control environment, as well as sharing learnings, including commercial insights and productivity opportunities.
Your team
CBA GA&A's Innovation team, comprises of professionals with diverse career backgrounds in analytics, audit, media, and user/customer experience within both private and public sectors.
The Innovation team is of strategic importance to GA&A, being responsible for leveraging data analytics to enhance and expand audit processes to provide greater assurance. To achieve this, we utilize a broad range of analytical tools including Python, R, Alteryx, Jupyter Notebooks, Tableau, Teradata SQL, SAS, and other specialised tools.
The Innovation team is high-performing, with a pioneering approach to analytics and its application within Group Audit. The team is highly integrated with the business auditors - combining deep business understanding with analytical capabilities. You will also be involved in supporting the data science and engineering programs within the team.
Your impact & contribution
  • Perform high quality, risk-focused analytics providing management with powerful insights for improving the control environment in line with Group strategic objectives.
  • Assist auditors and reviewers in becoming more efficient and effective, in both executing audits, and planning audit coverage, through the use of analytics and continuous assurance.

Your responsibilities
  • Risk Mindset -All CommBank employees are expected to proactively identify and understand, openly discuss and act on current and future risks.
  • High quality and timely delivery of a number of Analytics assignments across your given portfolio.
  • Consistently deliver accurate and effective data analytics in line with Methodology and quality standards.
  • Work closely with audit teams and other customers to understand the risk and control environment.
  • Profile, test and understand data extracted from core business systems to determine the existence of unidentified risks or control failures
  • Present results in a clear and concise manner to senior internal and external stakeholders
  • Solve complex analytical problems by applying innovative and resourceful thinking

Your skills & experience
  • Tertiary qualification in relevant field
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in an Analytics role
  • Demonstrated good team player
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with analytics languages such as SQL, python or R.
