Who we are - Ko wai mātou
As New Zealand's conduct regulator for the finance sector, the Financial Markets Authority (FMA) promotes and facilitates the development of fair, efficient, and transparent financial markets. Our purpose is to foster the fairest financial sector in the world.
With us, you'll be making a difference by enabling New Zealanders to have confidence that our financial sector provides a strong foundation for their financial future - helping them to save and invest, manage their risks, borrow, make payments, and support their families.
He angitūtanga: The opportunity
We're looking a Senior Adviser to join our newly created Climate Related Disclosures (CRD) team. This is a rare opportunity to help establish effective regulation of New Zealand's world leading Climate Related Disclosures regime. The sectors that fall within the regime are vast and this position will specialise in the managed funds population.
In this role you will:

* Provide input into discussions with key stakeholders including regulatory agencies and industry across CRDs regime issues.
* Respond to queries about the climate related disclosures regime from market participants.
* Work with the CRD team to provide innovative, well researched and effective advice to assist the FMA in high-quality decision making around the strategic approach to regulation of capital and financial markets.
* Provide technical expertise on climate statements covering all sectors of the financial markets to support the review process of the Climate Statements of Climate Reporting Entities.

He kōrero mōu: About you
We are looking for a motivated, adaptable and proactive team member who is eager to become immersed in the world of climate-related disclosures and be part of the transition to a more sustainable low emissions economy.
Tertiary qualified, you will have a finance background and we will welcome your experience of working within the managed investments space and utilise your deep understanding of capital markets. Exceptional interpersonal, communication and influencing skills will allow you to comfortably engage with stakeholders of all levels, both internally and externally.
Ngā āhuatanga kei a mātou: What we offer
We'll provide extensive training opportunities to get you up to speed and to ensure you're up-to-date with key climate-related disclosure developments. Our culture is our point of difference, with access to an approachable and engaged executive leadership team, and a genuine commitment to work-life balance. We're a family-friendly and caring community with a strong emphasis on life outside of work in an organisation that champions diversity and inclusion and where we all have the opportunity to reach our full potential.
We are open to this role being in Auckland, Wellington, or Christchurch.
