Our Client
We are recruiting a Commercial Pricing Manager / Pricing Manager for our client - a leading distributor of building and timber materials into the construction sector. A business with a National Branch Network throughout the UK.
We are recruiting a proven Pricing Manager to join their pricing team. The role can be based anywhere in the Midlands and Northern region (travel will be required).
We are looking to speak to Pricing Managers / Pricing Implementation Managers from the builders merchants, construction supplies sector who understand the complexities of trading and pricing within a multi-site operation.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
As a Pricing Manager you will clearly need to be data driven and analytical, however this Commercial Pricing Manager will have a big focus on people. Building relationships with the branch management team. This communication piece will be very important. You will need to be able to communicate with a number of different people. You will need to be able to handle these characters and be able to influence people. Inflencing margin at branch level.
The role will involve going into branches 3 or 4 days per week, going in with reports, communicating this to the branch manager, agreeing actions and drive those actions, returning to review.
Once the model is implemented, there are many more processes and strategic planning / ideas that will come into play. The branches you cover will also need to be monitored to make sure the new strategy is continued.
N.B. THIS ROLE WOULD ALSO BE SUITED TO A BRANCH MANAGER OF A BUILDERS MERCHANTS. AS A BRANCH MANAGER YOU WILL UNDERSTAND THOSE YOU ARE COMMUNICATING WITH AND HAVE AN APPRECIATION OF PRICING, MARGIN AND WILL BE ABLE TO UNDERSTAND NUMBERS. This role doesn't not need a hugely data driven individual - there is a data team to support.
