Job Background/context:

The Investment Finance business of the Private Bank offers a diverse product range covering Margin Lending, Commercial Real Estate and Residential Real Estate finance, Aircraft and Art backed finance. The IF Transactor role within the Investment Finance team revolves around structuring and delivery of our core product range and the provision of tailored solutions to empower the CPB's High Net Worth clients to pursue balance sheet leverage, diversification and liquidity. This role is based in the CPB London office to focus on the growth of the Investment Finance Business, specifically Margin Lending, across the Transactor's designated coverage.

Key

Responsibilities:

  • Marketing and sale of the full Investment Finance Product range, specifically Margin Lending, including client calling and account planning in partnership with Private Bankers
  • Understand and anticipate clients' needs, following up with effective products and financial solutions
  • Maximize revenue generation and work towards agreed revenue targets whilst achieving at least minimum return targets ensuring responsible lending growth
  • Responsible for appropriate Margin Lending transaction structuring and work in partnership with the Underwriting team to efficiently execute transactions with appropriate risk and return characteristics, ensuring appropriate Credit Policy and Risk Acceptance standard compliance
  • Define, coordinate and oversee the analytical activities of the deal team
  • Define and negotiate the transaction and credit framework (including covenant definition)
  • Oversee preparation of credit and capital allocation Memos (as applicable)
  • Partner with the Underwriting team on the the Credit Approval write up, for both new deals and annual reviews
  • Negotiation, obtaining and closing of credit documentation, ensuring compliance with all Citi and external policies and coordinating with external counsel, Underwriting and Risk Management to ensure successful deal execution, as required
  • Responsible for the early problem recognition process and must propose, when deemed appropriate, credit classification and appropriate risk rating on specific transactions/ relationships

  • Strong sales and origination skill set
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and clients

  • High level of competence in Bloomberg, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong creative and interpersonal skills coupled with an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Possesses a broad base of execution skills, having successfully completed a range of complex transactions

Knowledge/Experience:
  • Extensive experience of the financial industry
  • Extensive investment and banking product knowledge
  • Solid knowledge in asset allocation process, trading (equity, FX, fixed income and derivatives) and managed investments.
  • Knowledge of Citigroup's investment offering is preferred
  • Financial and cash flow modelling
  • Price volatility and default modelling
  • Counterparty Credit experience

Qualifications:
  • Postgraduate Degree Educated or equivalent preferred, however exceptional candidates with relevant experience will be considered
  • CFA or equivalent registration preferred
