Minimum Requirements:
  • Degree / Diploma in Accounting / HR Management / Payroll Administration
  • At least 5 years of experience in Payroll Management
  • SAGE 300 experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced Payroll Tax knowledge and experience
  • Extensive knowledge of Sage 300 Payroll
  • Advanced MS Office, particularly Excel
  • In- depth working knowledge of relevant tax legislation, employment conditions and Bargaining councils
  • All payroll related tax filing
  • Experience in payroll for African countries

Work Experience:
  • 7 years working experience in Payroll
  • 5 years working experience in Payroll Management

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Payroll
  • Management of payroll department and payroll staff nationally
  • Maintain competence, motivation and continuous improvements in the Payroll Department
  • Management of the Sage 300 payroll systems and interacting with Sage 300 consultants on updates and enhancements
  • Providing guidance and support on all remuneration and benefits related matters
  • Ensure that payroll data is updated on a daily basis
  • Ensure the accurate processing of all payrolls and payroll records
  • Data input and salary processing of all admin staff on Sage 300 payroll
  • Amendments and changes to salaries and wage structure and packages
  • Creating of monthly salaries payroll ACB files for all divisions under the Excellerate banner
  • Sage ESS Management
  • Management and reconciliation of medical aid
  • Management and reconciliation of all provident fund contribution
  • Reconciling monthly provident fund schedules, addition and removal of employees to fund
  • Reconciliation of payrolls before month end and payroll roll over
  • Month end financial reports for SARS and other 3rd party payments for Finance
  • Maximizing and implementing the effectiveness and efficiency of payroll processing, procedures, controls and maintenance thereof, including the streamlining and automation or processes.
  • Payroll reporting including statutory reporting to HR and Finance

Audit
  • Auditing of all payroll input
  • Auditing of all payroll records and summaries
  • Auditing of payroll procedures and functions
  • General Auditing of all Operations procedures that directly have and impact of the Payroll process and procedures

Statutory and 3rd Party Responsibilities
  • Liaise with Department of Labour to resolve labour related disputes
  • Liaise with SARS for all income tax related issue
  • Apply for tax directives when required
  • Bi-annual tax submissions to SARS
