Olleco is on a mission to help protect the planet, working together with thousands of foodservice businesses to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by hundreds and thousands of tonnes. We are now looking for a Mergers & Acquisitions Finance Manager to join our team and help us to continue to do things the right way for customers, colleagues and the planet.

With over 1,000 colleagues in multiple sites nationwide delivering excellence performance, we supply premium cooking oils, and collect organic waste, which is then converted into bio-methane, electricity, heat and organic fertiliser. A little bit more about the role:

This is a stand-alone, varied and project-based role supporting the CFO with strategic activities to drive Olleco’s growth ambitions. Solutions focused with the ability to work through a wide range of challenges and competing priorities. This role will provide the opportunity to take the lead on M&A activity, growing your experience across Europe whilst getting involved in a number of other projects in a hands-on capacity.

With experience of working on small or medium scale acquisitions, the right candidate will be someone who thrives on the challenge of finding solutions and seeing a project through from end to end and would enjoy the opportunity to work on a wide range of other projects.

- Responsible for undertaking financial reviews, investment appraisals, putting business proposals together and providing recommendations.
- Management of share and asset purchase agreement activity ensuring best value for Olleco.
- Undertake financial due diligence on acquisition targets and other projects. Including the gathering and presentation from and to target companies and internal management (and on their behalf) of data including the management of data rooms, due diligence and for the wider sale processes.
- Liaise with legal and tax advisors, taking the lead to ensure advise is followed and interpreted appropriately.
- Liaise with JV partners on Statutory filing requirements in the UK and EU to ensure all requirements are met on time and in full in an efficient and appropriate manner.
- Manage records and data appropriately in line with Company policy and ensure that appropriate legal processes are followed including use of NDA’s etc during all legal processes.
- Undertake data analysis and manipulation to create reports and deliver these appropriately. Work closely with Financial Controllers throughout the organisation to interrogate the data ensuring accuracy and identify areas of potential improvement.
- Undertake review and approval of large CAPEX projects to support business strategy.
- Support the CFO with AD hoc projects.

Interested? We are looking for:

- ACA or ACCA qualified.
- Someone who is flexible with willingness to ‘get stuck in’.
- Willing to take on full ownership & responsibility for own performance and results.
- Experience working within a big audit company, undertaking small to medium M&A activity.
- Experience of UK and European business acquisitions.
- Fully IT literate with advanced Excel skills.
- Demonstrable experience of undertaking due diligence activity from a legal and financial perspective.
- Fluency in Spanish would be desirable but not essential.
- Excellent data analysis and interrogation skills and experience.
- Able to build strong internal and external relationships.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Very high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Disciplined with the ability to manage workloads and prioritise to meet flexing and tight deadlines.
