Leading global independent retail operator with operations at over 5,600 sites across Continental Europe, the United Kingdom, North America and Australia is looking for a Finance Manager. This is a new role permanent role within the accounting and finance team and as can be expected to evolve.
ROLE of Finance Manager:
* Initially to provide support for the upcoming audit: compiling supporting documentation for transactions and liaising with various disciplines within finance and the auditors to provide details and clarification.
* Take ownership of all finance aspects of the largest revenue generating category: costs, overheads, fixed assets, revenue
* Preparation of monthly management accounts and provide first input into monthly management accounts
* Presentation of monthly numbers and provide senior management with concise and clear updates and ensure all issues are escalated in a timely manner
* Support Financial Controller in ensuring strong month end controls and adherence to deadlines to support wider group reporting requirements
* Support the understanding and investigation of variance analysis relating to actuals vs budgets and forecasts and work closely with the commercial team
* Develop strong cross functional partnerships with across various departments (Fuel Merchandising Operations and Maintenance Payroll HR)
* Other adhoc projects and tasks as required
PROFILE:
* Audit experience: you will need to be able to step straight into the initial audit aspect of the role.
* Support will be given in developing the new Finance Manager aspect of this role but you will need experience in a similar role.
* CIMA or ACCA qual/part-qual or QBE
* Experience of IFRS standards
* Strong analytical communication skills
* French would be a bonus but is not essential
SALARY:
* £60 to £65k according to skills and experience plus bonus
* Very good benefits and working environment
