This role is responsible for:
  • Reviewing all financial data and reports.
  • Performing financial analysis.
  • Providing variance reporting.
  • Conducting scenario and feasibility studies.
  • Building financial models.
  • Providing insight to the business on its commercial decisions.
The Person:
  • Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
  • Min 2 to 4 years relevant experience in corporate finance or retail related fields.
  • Sound accounting knowledge and related experience.
  • General knowledge of statutory and tax regulations.
  • Good knowledge and experience with Accounting and ERP software systems, with Syspro or Accpac an advantage.
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel and financial modeling.
The Job:
  • Perform analytic reviews of all financial data and reports, including financial statements, management accounts, budgets and forecasts.
  • Investigate material and key variances, providing solutions and recommendations to reduce costs and maximise trading margins and profits.
  • Provide variance reports.
  • Perform scenario planning and feasibility studies on commercial decisions and provide insight, solutions and recommendations.
  • Understand retail, the logistics chain and cross border transactions.
  • Perform financial analysis on financial data/reports, budgets and cashflow.
  • Produce monthly reports which include financial results, benchmarks and variance reporting.
  • Assist in the budget, forecast and cashflow processes.
  • Build financial models to assess trading margins and profitability of new customers and new business opportunities.
  • Review existing business models.
  • Provide scenarios for planning purposes.
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual closings to trial balance, including balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Assist with preparing audit schedules for the annual audits and files.
  • Comply with financial policies and regulations.
