Woodall Homes, a small but growing organisation who build high quality homes across the East Midlands region, are looking to appoint a Purchase Ledger Clerk. You will work alongside colleagues in the Finance team, taking responsibility for the purchase ledger processing of site invoices, maintaining the integrity of the purchase ledger and ensuring compliance with VAT and Construction Industry Standards.

You will work alongside colleagues in the Finance team, taking responsibility for the purchase ledger processing of site invoices, maintaining the integrity of the purchase ledger and ensuring compliance with VAT and Construction Industry Standards.
Key
Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of our Purchase Ledger Clerkinclude, but are not limited to:
- Responsible for the day-to-day processing of all site purchase invoices ensuring that invoices are checked, prices are correct and that any discrepancies are investigated and dealt with appropriately.
- Ensure that invoices are authorised for payment by relevant team managers and matched to purchase orders.
- Ensure that invoices are entered onto the accounting system accurately, using the appropriate account codes.
- Have oversight of and assist with the Group overhead purchase ledger.
- Process intercompany recharge invoices.
- Manage the rebate and retention payment processes.
- Create new supplier accounts and amend existing accounts as required.
- Deal with all enquiries related to invoices/payments, answering telephone calls and emails, and liaising with relevant teams as necessary to ensure enquires are dealt with in a professional and timely manner.
- Reconcile supplier statements.
- Assist with the preparation of information for external advisors, including the statutory audit and corporation tax information.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulation and legislation, including VAT and Construction Industry Standards.

- A competitive rate of pay – £25k - £28k, depending on experience.

The Person
The essential skills and qualities of our Purchase Ledger Clerkare:
- Experience of working in a busy purchase ledger in a small organisation/hands-on environment.
- Strong IT and computer skills (especially excel which will require intermediate level application).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Accuracy and ability to provide consistent attention to detail.
- Ability to work to deadlines in order to meet payment terms and organisational reporting requirements.
Most suited candidates may also have:
- Construction industry background
- Experience of Sage 50 system
- Experience of Construction Industry Scheme
- Experience of dealing with supplier payment enquiries
