Requirements:

  • BCom Accounting (or similar) with a minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Must have knowledge and working experience of MS-Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Sage One.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge.
  • Excellent soft skills and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise workload.

Responsibilities:

  • Cash flow management (receivables management and stakeholder relationships).
  • Stakeholder reporting.
  • Management of forecasts/budgets and variance analysis.
  • Facilitation of external audit.
  • Supplying internal audit function with requirements.
  • Tax Management (EMP201, EMP501 and VAT201).
  • Financial Reporting and bookkeeping.
  • Accounts Payable and payment cycle.

Strategy

  • Input into business strategy.
  • Implement, monitor, and evaluate strategic direction.
  • Develop financial and tax strategies.
  • Manage the capital request and budgeting processes.
  • Assisting with stakeholder and organisation KPI's.

Operations

  • Participate in key decisions as a member of senior management.
  • Drive and manage the entire accounting function.
  • Capture financial transactions and variance analysis on a monthly basis.
  • Compile stakeholder reports.

Finance and admin

  • Compile, review and approve monthly and quarterly board packs, management.
  • Accounts and reports.
  • Report financial results to the Audit and Risk Committee and Board of Directors.
  • Full cash management function.
  • Project costings for proposals and projects.
  • Post all journal entries and ensure these are appropriate.
  • Facilitate and ensure the external audit is completed within the stipulated deadline.
  • Prepare the budget for board approval and assist with 3-year business plan.

Risk Management

  • Ensure that record keeping meets the appropriate level of requirements.
  • Identify and mitigate key elements of the organisation's risk profile.
  • Recommend improvements to the organisation's control environment.
  • Ensure insurance cover is adequate.
  • Ensure that the organisation complies with all legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Report risk issues to the CEO and to Audit and Risk Committee.
  • Ensure compliance with all delegations, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure all financial controls are designed, implemented, and operating effectively together with internal audit.

Payment cycle

  • Maintenance of payables and payments to suppliers.
  • Ensure approval processes are followed in accordance with policy.

Fixed Assets

  • Maintenance of additions and disposals.
  • Maintain depreciation.
