We have an exciting opportunity for an exceptional Qualified Finance Manager to join us in a leadership position within our Enterprise division.
Main purpose
To lead sustainable financial growth by taking ownership of the financial strategy, controls and management information for the Business Unit or Client Account. Provide insight and influence to impact performance and maintain competitive advantage. Ensure great client relationship.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Financial Control: Ensure company policies and procedures are adhered to consistently throughout the Business Unit. Continually review, maintain and improve cash-flow, margins and reporting. Develop targets and benchmarking processes to challenge the financial information
- Reporting: Ownership of monthly reporting to the client, budgets, forecasts, KPI's, ensuring completeness and accuracy and any ad hoc reporting that the client may require.
- Support the corporate reporting requirements by providing input and review the monthly profitability reporting, balance sheet reconciliation, budget, forecast, business review packs and any ad hoc reporting requested by the Business Unit
- Financial Processes: Ensure timely and accurate pre-approval of both scope of work and cost, ensure timely and accurate billing to the client for pass-through services, labour cost and other services. Review and approve payments to suppliers and monitoring the trade receivable account ensuring timely recovery of outstanding balances due from the client. Ensure that processes are up to date and reflects the requirements set out in the MSA and implement new processes as when needed
- Manage and Develop Team: Recruit, train, manage, develop, set target and motivate. Carry out structured appraisals and ensure personal development plans are in place and include succession plans. The team consist of 4 direct reports and 2 shared resources
- Client and Business Relationships: Be the established first point of contact for the client in regard to any finance matters. Ensure that the client is comfortable with the financial operation and processes, assisting the client with any ad hoc requirements that may be requested. Ensure great relationship and clear communication with the corporate team and presents the results of the client account in the monthly Business Unit Reviews. Ensure use of best practice, communication and understanding of key business both from a client and a corporate perspective.
- Commercial: Drive and support commercial requirements such as changes to MSA's, restructure of services and teams, supplier tendering, systems changes, implementation of new reports and negotiation with the client.
- Added Value: Be key finance contact to the Alliance director in all financial matters identifying cost optimisation and enhancing long term growth and profitability. Provide financial, contract support leadership and direction in the Business Unit. This will require a self-starter, professional scepticism and ide range of skills and dissemination of knowledge. Use specialist knowledge and experience to provide insight and influence to impact performance standards. Implement improvements, drive change, raise standards through the direct and indirect management of staff. Act as a specialist partner to the Business Unit Finance Director to both advise and challenge senior management on performance.
Selection criteria:
- The successful person will hold a recognized CCAB accounting qualification (ACA, CIMA or ACCA) with relevant PQE gained in a similar environment.
- A degree such as Math's, Economics or Finance an advantage but not essential.
- Strong management accounting and analytical skills are essential.
- The person should have the skills to manage and develop the contract support team.
- This role requires a person, who has a strong customer focus, promotes team spirit, boosts morale and who subscribes to the Company ethos of continual improvement.
- It is likely to suit an individual who is self motivated, reliable, and professional. They should be able to exercise an attention to detail which will be paramount to delivering the required job performance levels.
- Strong communication skills
- Competent working knowledge of Microsoft packages (e.g. Excel, Word).
