Assistant Accountant

Fixed Term Contract 9 months

Monday to Friday - 8:45am 5:00pm 45-minute break

Salary £26,500 - £28,500 per annum

Our Telford based client is looking for an Assistant Accountant to support the Head of Finance in all areas of accounting. This is a varied accounts position where you will be able to have a real impact on the business. The position is covering maternity leave, initially on a 9-month fixed-term contract but it could be extended.

You will be responsible for:

• Purchase Ledger
• Credit control
• Expenses
• Bank reconciliations
• Petty cash
• VAT returns
• Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts
• Accruals
• Prepayments
• Journals
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Assist with annual audits
• Cash flow reporting
• Actual vs budget overhead analysis
• Collate payroll information for external bureau

Skills and Experience

Our client is looking for a candidate with proven experience in a business accounts environment. You will be a confident communicator with an analytical mind and a methodical approach. You must be computer literate, with a high-level of MS Excel.
