The Manager, Liquidity Risk role is critical to making this happen by reporting and analysing the liquidity and funding risk for ANZ's New Zealand Operations.
This role is responsible for the accurate measurement and validation of key market risk metrics, as required by ANZ Group policy, the RBNZ, and APRA.
Your responsibilities in this role will include:
- Validation, review and challenge of treasury modelling approaches in accordance with sound model governance principles
- Attaining practical understanding and knowledge of ANZ's liquidity policy application, as well regulatory requirements
- Proactive identification of any changes in our liquidity position, and effective communication / escalation to key stakeholders
- Ensuring liquidity risk is in line with ANZ NZ's risk appetite
- Generating and distributing of risk reports to Treasury, NZ Markets, Senior Executives and other key stakeholders
- Maintaining good working relationships with key Treasury and NZ Markets staff to balance Risk objectives with the banks liquidity and funding risk strategy, and ensure all initiatives undertaken are aligned with risk and compliance principals and polices

What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in the role, you will ideally bring some of the following:
- 3-5 years' experience of working with banking models (treasury, credit or IFRS9), either in a governance, development or validation capacity. Applicants with a strong data background, and an interest in financial markets may also be suitable.
- Excellent data manipulation and analysis skills (experience in one or more of SAS, python, VBA, SQL and tableau preferred)
- Experience in a first or second-line risk function with a track record of peer reviewing and challenging modelling assumptions / interpretations
- Knowledge of bank balance sheets, financial instruments and their impact on bank liquidity
- Experience and understanding of current regulatory standards for liquidity risk (RBNZ and APRA) and of Basel III
- Comfort and experience working in a fast paced and ever-changing environment
