The purpose of the role is to provide an effective and efficient range of payroll services to our customers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Create employee codes accordingly for new intakes
  • Capture new intakes on payroll System
  • Capture new intakes/existing employees banking details on payroll system and send to Payroll Supervisor for review
  • Create new employees tracker and send to payroll supervisor
  • Preparing Payroll Reports
  • Liaise with other support departments and obtain attendance for staff
  • Liaise with relevant departments and ensure ad hoc schedules (e.g., deductions trackers, staff movement and increase tracker, terminations tracker etc) received for payroll timeously
  • Maintain accuracy between Time & Attendance system and Payroll system
  • Calculation and checks of terminations, maternity, and OT schedules
  • Liaise with payroll administrators regarding corrections and reports extraction from Time and Attendance system for payroll, ensure that all reports are checked and corrected for payroll calculations before it is sent to the payroll supervisor for processing
  • Deal with pay queries from HR, Operations, and other support departments in a timely manner
  • Provide clear and accurate payroll support
  • Capture annual leave for terminations
  • Approve leave on sage self service in line with leave entitlements
  • Create absence upload report and upload on payroll system
  • Manage and capture leave entitlements accurately and timeously to ensure the accurate payment of leave entitlements
  • Ensure all aspects of the payroll process are met within payroll timelines ensuring all employees are paid accurately and on time.
  • Ad hoc tasks requested by payroll supervisor

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Essential
  • Matric
  • 2 years min experience on Sage Business Cloud Payroll Professional or Sage VIP

Preferred
  • Advanced Payroll Qualification
  • Tertiary Education (advantageous)

Essential
  • Previous experience in high volume payroll administration, up to 1000 employees
  • Working knowledge of Tax
  • Ability to calculate pay manually
  • Good customer service skills
  • Advanced working knowledge of Word and Excel
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Discreet with confidential information
  • Good organizational skills and an ability to work to deadlines

Preferred
  • Working knowledge of IEX Time and Attendance system
  • Working knowledge of the Payroll system
  • Able to recommend ideas & improvements to system processes
