Role Purpose

Develop and implement public relations and communication plans, campaigns and initiatives that communicate, create awareness and protect the Momentum Investments brand as part of the Momentum Investments marketing team.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Communication, Journalism, Marketing or Public Relations (preferred)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in copywriting and editing
  • 3 years of experience in Public Relations or Communication
  • 3 years of experience in project management and execution of PR campaigns and initiatives
  • Familiarity with social media platforms (e.g. Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook etc.)

Duties & Responsibilities
Contribute to the development and manage the implementation of public relations campaigns and plans:
  • Contribute to the development of the public relations strategy and policies based on the needs of the organisation.
  • Strategic alignment - a clear understanding of the business strategy and ensure PR alignment.
  • Liaise with stakeholders in order to obtain public relations campaign and initiative requirements.
  • Advise and guide stakeholders on creative ideas and concepts for public relations.
  • Collaborate and contribute to broader marketing initiatives, ensuring PR visibility and alignment with marketing campaigns
  • Draft standard responses to a variety of media queries and develop standard media statements and briefs.
  • Support the PR Manager in developing a public relations plan and calendar to effectively plan and manage Momentum Investments public relations initiatives for the year.
  • Contribute to the delivery of public relations campaigns and initiatives.
  • Be one of the primary media contacts and work with relevant service providers to effectively respond to media queries relating to Momentum Investments.
  • Support the preparation of speeches, publicity materials and supporting collateral for the senior executive management team and identified spokespeople when they are required to address external stakeholders and/or represent Momentum Investments.
  • Continuously develop own expertise in terms of professional, industry and legislation knowledge.
  • Assist with media content on the Momentum webpage, Twitter and LinkedIn platforms where relevant. Collaborate with the Momentum Investments Marketing team to ensure media coverage is optimised in social media channels - mostly LinkedIn
  • Coordinate the scheduling and logistics of public relation events and initiatives.
  • Consult with various stakeholders to identify trends or key group interests or concerns or to provide advice on business decisions.
  • Contribute to the development of media crisis strategies and oversee the crisis management process when necessary.
  • Develop plans and/or materials to communicate organisational activities that promote environmental, public safety or other important social issues.
  • Write and edit articles to ensure media friendly articles for best opportunities in the media. It is important to ensure the message is conveyed and aligns with business strategy.

  • Build and maintain relationships with clients and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Deliver on expectations to clients and internal and external stakeholders in order to ensure that client expectations are managed.
  • Make recommendations to improve client service and fair treatment of clients within area of responsibility.
  • Participate and contribute to a culture which builds rewarding relationships, facilitates feedback and provides exceptional client service.
  • Continuously monitor turnaround times and quality standards and resolve issues speedily to enhance client service delivery.
  • Drive client service delivery goal achievement in line with predefined standards in order to ensure that clients receive appropriate advice and after sales service.
  • Manage client query processes and ensure that queries are tracked, accurately resolved and used as a mechanism to improve client service and business processes.
  • Interact with different target audiences as clients and will have to learn to understand the needs of each of these target audiences.

  • Identify solutions to enhance cost effectiveness and increase operational efficiency
  • Provide input into governance processes, systems and legislation within area of specialisation
  • Provide input into the risk identification processes development and communicate recommendations in the appropriate forum.
  • Report willful acts of non-compliance to organisation policy and practice by reporting to the legal department.
