GHJ Search and Staffing has partnered with a boutique investment firm in West Los Angeles that has $200M of AUM and is looking to hire a strategic and tactical CFO. As the first professional finance hire, the CFO will be charged with standardizing the financial process, implementing company-wide policies and procedures, partnering with the banks, and building out the accounting/finance infrastructure to support the run rate of the company. The CFO will be expected to provide business and operational analysis, strategic insight, and tactical financial support to be an effective business partner and trusted adviser to the President and senior management team.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Reporting to the CEO, the CFO will oversee all aspects of the day-to-day financial management of the company including the preparation of the monthly consolidated financial package; management of GL accounts, annual audit, and related tax returns; and financial planning.
  • Direct and manage all accounting and finance work internally & externally.
  • Ensure all financial statements and accounting information is accurate and done in a timely manner
  • Ensure the company is in compliance with laws and regulating agencies.
  • Develop and implement policy and procedures including internal controls for checks and balances.
  • Analysis of Financial Statements & Financial reports taking action and making suggestions & Updating CEO about the important information.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day planning, implementation, and control of all financial-related activities of the company.
  • Oversee and execution of all Financing & refinancing activities of the company.
  • Proactively improve functions and/or identify opportunities to improve the bottom line.
  • Review financial performance reports for current investments. Make recommendations where performance targets are not met or could be improved and communicate risks.
  • Review and determine whether adequate insurance is in place to cover all reasonable risks.
  • Oversee and execute refinancing activities.
  • Managing and evaluating stock portfolios, money managers, private equity, and private placements.
  • Maximize return on financial assets of all asset classes.
  • Assist CEO in finding new investments.
  • Review, implement and/or develop the organization's strategic goals for growth.
  • Evaluate, underwrite, prepare proforma, and conduct in-depth due diligence for the purchase of new investments.
  • Follow through all aspects of acquisition & procuring financing.
  • Manage Accounting staff.
  • Hire, promote, and complete performance reviews of all staff members.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or Business.
  • CPA or MBA preferred
  • Experience in investment analysis, evaluation, and underwriting of new investments
  • A minimum of 5-7, years of experience as a CFO.
  • Proficient with office software tools
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Experience in farming is a big PLUS +
  • Experience in the acquisition of farms, especially Pistachio and Almonds
  • Experience in real estate acquisition and development
  • Strong decision-making, leadership, and problem-solving skills
