Position Overview:

This is a fantastic opportunity for a recent Graduate or somebody studying towards a recognised Accountancy Qualification - AAT Level 3 to support the Accounting team in the provision and control of financial information. Fulfilling the accounting requirements for balance sheet; equipment; parts & service operations; and operating expenses, ensuring that the financial accounts are accurate.

 

Job Description:

Major Job Functions

  • Preparation of monthly and quarterly balance sheet reconciliations for review.
  • Preparation of monthly reporting information and analysis and provide ad-hoc reports as requested.
  • Inputting of journals, review/analysis and correction of monthly operating/profitability reports. Month end accounting journals/tasks.
  • Finance system transaction register adjustments.
  • Support non-finance business teams in the provision of accurate information and resolution of commercial queries.
  • Provide ad-hoc support as necessary and provide cover for other team members within the Accounting team as required

 

Education, Skill & Experience

  • Recent Graduate or studying towards a recognised Accountancy Qualification - AAT L3 / CIMA / ACCA
  • Knowledge of SAP and DBS beneficial
  • ​Solid IT skills including advanced Microsoft Excel  
  • Able to demonstrate adaptability and flexibility     
  • Eye for detail and willingness to pursue an audit trail   
  • Proven ability to handle large volumes of data  
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships   
  • Ability to prioritise workload and ensure deadlines are met  

 

Accountability

  • Ensure accuracy of accounting for Equipment, Parts and Service transactions for both the Construction Industry and Energy & Transportation.
  • Ensure the revenue and gross profit margins are correct on a monthly basis via the sales analysis and other analytics
  • Daily review and correction of accounting errors. Daily reconciliation of key balance sheet accounts – with investigations into systems for variances. Produce key daily, weekly and monthly KPI’s
  • Investigate operational activities and documentation of procedures.

  • Support the finance function in process management and Bill 198 compliance
