Fantastic opportunity for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join our construction based client located in LE9, South Leicestershire on a 12 month maternity cover contract.

Key Responsibilities of the Accounts Assistant:

Purchase Ledger

* Processing supplier and subcontractor invoices

* Processing and checking CIS net invoices

* Understanding the CIS process and ensuring that invoices are posted correctly to the CIS codes

* Record and process the weekly subcontractor payment certificates and payments

* Calculating and paying the weekly subcontractor invoices ensuring these are paid as per the subcontractor payment certificates

* Preparation of the Month end payment run

* Preparation of the weekly payment runs

* Deal with payment chasers and queries

* Review retention claims and ensure they are only paid when the defects are complete

* Sending the CIS statements each month to subcontractors

* Setting new supplier and subcontractors up on Sage

* Quarterly PL reports

* Supporting the accounts team when required with workload and advice

Quarter End Tasks

* Monthly update of the project tracker to capture any changes to project costs and close projects when required

* Quarterly reconciliation of the project tracker to the CVR report including working with the QS team to ensure that the project costs in the accounts package reconcile back to the final costs/sales expected.

* Post project accruals

* Calculate and post WIP, with analysis and commentary

* Review and post overhead accruals and prepayments

Skills and Experience required from the Accounts Assistant:

* 2+ years’ Accounts Assistant experience

* Part or qualified AAT or qualified by experience

* Experience of Sage preferred (not essential)

* Construction and CIS knowledge desirable (not essential)

* Strong MS Excel skills essential (lookups, sumifs, pivots etc)

* Highly accurate with close attention to detail

* Excellent organisational skills and able to work to deadlines

* Self-motivated, proactive, with a positive can-do attitude

* Friendly, approachable, professional

* Eagerness to use own initiative but with ability to work within a team

Office based role

Hours 9-5pm, Monday-Friday, 30 mins lunch
