Job purpose:
The Finance Assistant will join our small in-house finance team and assist in the day to day business finance activities such as data entry, processing invoices, audit, month end management accounts and/or year end financial statements. In addition the Finance Assistant may also get involved in regulatory financial requirements such as the completion of VAT returns or assisting in the preparation of tax computations.
Responsibilities:
Invoices
Print invoices received into (url removed) and process to payment along with hard copies received in the post.
Oversee time sheet completion and reporting.
Assisting with grant quarterly reporting.
Save invoices into folders to accurately report what stage received invoices are within the process, e.g. printed, queried, paid
Check every invoice for accuracy, made out to Iceotope Technologies Limited and matches the PO
Email suppliers with any queries, copy LB in, chase to conclusion and process Credit notes
Process invoices using ManuOnline and Xero
Check supplier statements match invoices received and notify supplier if not
Prepare invoices listed for a Payment run, collate for LB
Credit card spend & reconciliation
Check & process of expenses
Inputting Director expenses on Expensify
Filing
Other ad-hoc work in support of accounts and Business Services function
About the apprenticeship:
The programme takes a minimum of 15 months to complete, at which point the apprentice will begin their final assessment. As part of the apprenticeship the Finance Assistant will study for the AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) Advanced Diploma in Accounting Level 3, which is recognised by all UK chartered and certified accountancy bodies.

About You:
Minimum of 5 GCSEs grades A*- C (or acceptable alternatives). Must include English Language and Maths.

Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to work as a team and with individuals
Able to respond to a fluctuating work load
Self motivated
