This position is responsible for preparation / review of federal, state and local tax compliance for multiple entities. This involves analyzing and interpreting tax laws and regulations affecting tax compliance, acquisitions, dispositions and other corporate and partnership taxation issues. Additional responsibilities include providing tax analysis to support quarterly and annual calculation of current and deferred tax expense, valuations, financings, forecasting and other internal or external projects.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
  • Accumulate, analyze and process financial accounting data in order to review federal, state, and local tax returns.
  • Review federal and state consolidated corporate and partnership income tax returns.
  • Research, interpret and apply tax laws and regulations affecting federal and state compliance and other corporate and partnership taxation issues.
  • Analyze and evaluate tax implications of potential investments, acquisitions, divestitures, or other investments relative to organization's objectives.
  • Assist with special projects including tax planning and cash saving opportunities.
  • Coordinate and communicate with members of the tax and accounting departments.
  • Compile executive reporting for tax purposes as required.
  • Assist with US tax provision in accordance with ASC 740, including FIN 48 calculations.
  • Establish and maintain process controls for SOX compliance.
  • Research and recommend solutions to income tax accounting issues.
  • Assist with various process enhancements to streamline and automate flow of data.
  • Mentor and train senior staff and staff team members.
  • Perform other duties as required.

  • Superior Excel skills
  • Knowledge of tax return preparation software
  • Ability to research and resolve technical tax issues

  • Knowledge of accounting theory and financial statement presentation

Required Education
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field

Required Related Work Experience and Number of Years
Business tax return preparation, review and related research experience - 5+

Preferred Education
Advanced degree such as Masters in Accounting with concentration in Tax
CPA

Preferred Related Work Experience and Number of Years
Big 4 public accounting experience - 3-5+
Management or leadership experience - 2+
