Job Description

The person in this position will be responsible for partnering with leaders at all levels in the organization on a project basis to design, implement, document, measure and continuously improve key business practices in the Finance department. They will support efforts to identify leading practices, enhance systems, and optimize processes to realize opportunities by helping lead work streams to gather and analyze information, formulate and test hypotheses and develop actionable recommendations. The role includes the development of Google Slides presentations to present results to senior leaders and requires excellent verbal and written communications skills.

Minimal travel required; this role is predominantly in the Milwaukee Veolia Honey Creek office

Primary Duties / Responsibilities

The Finance Transformation group is a small internal strategic group that partners with the CFO and Finance leadership to shape the future of Finance at Veolia. Some examples of these initiatives include leading a Finance Transformation project, supporting implementation of strategic priorities, identifying and implementing digital finance solutions, and helping the Veolia businesses achieve predictable, profitable growth. You'll be working with managers and senior managers in the finance group to identify and execute strategic initiatives that pave the way to achieving our vision of a world-class Finance organization. You will support efforts to identify leading practices, improve processes, enhance systems, and realign the Finance organization to realize opportunities.

These initiatives are high visibility projects sponsored by the Veolia CFO to help Finance achieve its long-term goals. Define and execute overall process excellence strategy and goals in partnership with the Vice President, Shared Services. Define and track key performance metrics to quantify process excellence engagements in conjunction with operational leaders. You will help present your team's findings to senior Finance stakeholders, implement recommendations, and begin to build long-term trusted advisor relationships with Finance counterparts.

Specific tasks will include creating Google Slides presentations to communicate and influence senior leadership, both within the Finance team as well as other functions. You may also develop, own and modify detailed Excel models to conduct what-if analyses and perform other analytical tasks.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or IT preferred
  • Experience with the financial and accounting aspects of ERP systems (SAP preferred), including moderate system setup and organization familiarity.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience with Project Management in a finance context or previous work experience with financial technologies a must
  • Ability to plan, execute and manage multiple projects simultaneously while managing change and mitigating risk is required.
  • Experience in Finance or financial systems related role with Shared Services experience is preferred
  • Certification in Business Process Management or Project Management preferable but not required
