YOUR OPPORTUNITY

This role provides a unique opportunity to join a growing financial services team focused on an exciting client base across audit, regulatory, risk and compliance within a diverse portfolio of clients ranging from banking, insurance, funds management and private equity. Financial Services is a diverse and exciting industry providing a challenging learning environment supported by a highly engaged and focused group of partners and managers at Grant Thornton. No two days are the same and you will be given the guidance and tools to support our teams and industry clients while building on a range of diverse skills. As an experienced Manager you will be responsible for:
  • Working closely with the financial services team from associate to Partner from audit planning to field work and reporting
  • End to end planning and execution of the Internal audits, risk and compliance engagements for various financial services and banking clients;
  • Identifying priority areas of risk and process improvement by understanding the organisations systems, objectives, risks, control frameworks and regulatory environments;
  • Assisting with performing test plans and producing draft reports detailing results and observations;
  • Preparation of complete and accurate audit work papers, utilising and applying the firm's methodology;
  • Caring for our team and clients, and assisting with meeting engagement deadlines and all deliverables are met in a timely manner; and
  • Coaching and Managing team members, and help them grow within their role.

The role is ideal for those who have an interest and / or prior experience in financial services and are looking to further develop your skills in this area. To be successful we see you adding value to our client's business by having the following experience and attributes:
  • Experience in external and / or internal audit or regulatory, risk and compliance for financial services entities as well as APRA regulatory compliance would be beneficial - from either a Big 4 or mid-tier professional services firm working predominantly with financial services clients
  • Strong experience managing internal audits for financial services clients
  • Completion of, or studying towards, CA/ACCA qualification or equivalent
  • A client centric approach to your work with a curiosity to understand firm's clients and add value
  • Collaborative and consultative approach with working with diverse stakeholders from Associates up to Partners
  • The confidence to problem solve business risk and testing
  • IFRS/UK or US GAAP experience will be highly regarded
  • The salary range for this role will be AUD$105,000 - $120,000 per annum inclusive of superannuation
