Role: Senior Auditor
Contract: Temp Ongoing
Pay: £18 - £19.31 per hour
Connect2Luton are excited to recruit a Senior Auditor on behalf of Luton Borough Council within their Chief Executive department!
As a Senior Auditor you will be responsible for undertaking audit reviews covering the whole range of Council activities and to guide, assist, motivate and help develop auditors.
To be successful in this role you must be able to ensure honesty, accuracy, integrity and confidentiality in all aspects of work carried out.
About the Role:
Undertake regularity and risk based audits, value for money reviews, and corporate reviews whilst ensuring that work is completed in compliance with Public Sector Internal Audit Standards.
Undertake complex audit assignments.
Undertake a broad range of administrative duties including information maintenance and update on database systems.
Supervise, provide advice, develop and motivate auditor staff to ensure audit objectives are met as required.About you:
Experience in undertaking a wide range of internal audits
Experience of undertaking investigation and project based assignments including fraud and VFM reviews
Ability to persuade, influence and professionally advise and negotiate with managers and customers at all levels
Ability to demonstrate complex numerical reasoning skills, producing and maintaining accurate manual and computer records including spreadsheets
Able to establish facts, appraise controls, analyse and interpret data and make recommendations within complex reports
In-depth knowledge of Auditing principles and practices
Knowledge of all specialist audit areas including fraud investigation techniques and legislation
Minimum a part professional accountancy or internal auditing qualification (CCAB or Certified IIA) - or equivalent qualification or relevant experience
Able to travel to sites/meetings throughout the borough and work outside normal working hours.
Full valid driving licence
