Position Summary

This position is a payroll administrator for local and international clients across a diverse range of industries within the RSM Sydney Strategic Outsourcing division. This division provides our external clients with outsourced CFO and commercial accounting solutions, including payroll solutions. Payroll services are full scope, from software and processes advice, onboarding and setup of payroll systems, to payroll administration and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with RSM payroll clients as well as internal teams to ensure client payroll calculations are delivered on a timely and accurate basis.
  • Follow and maintain a standard payroll workpapers for each pay run for Partner review.
  • Meet payroll deadlines, including client specific payroll deadlines and statutory deadlines e.g., superannuation, payroll tax, and payroll year-end deadlines.
  • Assist with the onboarding process for new payroll clients, including setup of payroll systems and procedures, and provision of payroll calendar for clients and internal team to follow.
  • Continuous improvement of the payroll procedures for accuracy and efficiency purposes.
  • Liaise with the Strategic Outsourcing team and provide payroll information for month end reconciliation and reporting.


Demonstrated Experience & Attributes
  • Demonstrated commitment to confidentiality.
  • Previous experience in payroll processing in high-volume payroll functions, ideally across multiple industries and states.
  • Experience in working with and understanding of relevant Awards, Enterprise Agreements, and statutory/legislative requirements.
  • Experience with major payroll software or platforms ideally including KeyPay, ADP, Xero, MYOB and QuickBooks.
  • Excellent time management skills, a methodical and disciplined approach when organising and prioritising tasks, and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Process improvement mindset and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong numerical skills and attention to detail.
