What’s it all about?
The Finance team sits at the heart of the bank, with sub-teams of Financial Reporting and Control, Financial Performance and Analysis, Regulatory Reporting and Treasury. They play a key role in planning and managing capital and liquidity and assessing financial performance. The team will lead the way as we work towards a listing on a public capital market.
The Financial Planning & Analysis function within Finance supports the business through the provision of forward-looking plans & forecasts that guide the future direction of the business and by analysing business performance to make sure agreed plans are on track.
As Financial Modelling manager you will develop and maintain financial models for planning and decision making, working collaboratively within FP&A and the wider Finance function.
What will your typical day look like?
* Building capability in financial modelling to enable the teams to develop robust financial plans in efficient timeframes and support decision making
* Developing and rolling out scenario planning, stress testing and sensitivity analysis capabilities, working with other stakeholders round the business to embed stress testing into BAU decision making
* Develop models to support capital management, business case appraisal, business valuation, portfolio analysis and M&A opportunities
* Work collaboratively to uncover and understand the key business drivers and assumptions that models should be based upon
* Working alongside other teams to understand and interrogate complex/third party data sets & modelling this data in financial appraisal models, presenting outputs, and proposing recommendations to key stakeholders
* Feed into requirements for development of data models and overall systems architecture to support modelling and analytical deliverables
* Modelling of business inputs for budgeting and forecasting processes
* Support the annual ICAAP and Recovery Plan process, including modelling, analysis, and recommendations
What do we need from you?
* Fully qualified accountant- ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent
* Strong academic history – numerate degree
* Experience within Financial Services/Corporate Finance/Investment Role
* Advanced Excel, modelling & data handling skills
* Knowledge of modelling best practice principles. Ability to apply to new and existing models
* Understanding of accounting and financial concepts
* Able to deal with uncertainty, working effectively in a dynamic and changing environment
