Finance is a function within our airline organisation responsible for the key financial activities within the regions. The TUI Airline Finance function operates as a multi-disciplinary team of experts driving efficiency and innovation.

As Head of Finance – Fleet & Maintenance Reserves, your focus will be to develop, manage, and improve a team of finance professionals in order to deliver a world class finance business partnering service to the Director of E&M, the Fleet Director, and the Head of AABM. You will have accountability for end to end finance processes regarding Maintenance Reserving for commercial finance & accounting which includes responsibility for a balance sheet of €1bn & a budget in excess of €0.3bn. This area requires specialist and expert knowledge that you will need to develop & retain within your team. You will be required to demonstrate cost stewardship whilst driving forward the delivery of aircraft lifecycle optimisation initiatives. You will be responsible for the provision of financial information and high-quality support on all aspects of finance, including 3-year strategic plans, budgetary ownership, capital investment and business case development, performance evaluation, forecasting, and driving the business to deliver financial commitments.

The role will also work in close collaboration with the Engineering & Fleet finance teams to drive the most optimal maintenance strategies based on the latest fleet plan developments. This will involve working closely with SM&P to support contract negotiations & tenders with key suppliers such as Boeing, GE, Rolls Royce, etc on large value contracts. Lastly the role will also support all commercial negotiations with lessors regarding the aircraft redelivery process.

You’ll provide a key interface in to both the AOC and FP&A finance teams for forecasting, planning and operational insight behind the numbers. In addition, you’ll need to champion change and support the transition from region to function led. This is a key leadership role that will help to shape and influence the strategic direction and behaviours within the TUI Airline Finance function, and will be required to deputise for the Head of Engineering & Analytics Finance where applicable.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As Head of Finance – Fleet & Maintenance Reserves, you’ll be responsible for:

• Providing world class finance business partnering support to the Director – Engineering & Maintenance, the Fleet Director, and the Head of AABM in the TUI Airline E&M function. • Leading and delivering the budget & 3 year planning cycle outputs for Maintenance Reserves across all five airlines.• Work closely with the Engineering & Fleet teams to continually optimism the maintenance strategy on out TUI Fleet from a financial perspective of the lifecycle of the aircraft. • Lead all key contract negotiations, financial analysis, and business cases from a finance perspective with both key E&M suppliers and Aircraft Lessors. • Driving a culture of cost efficiency across all business areas within role remit and leading on projects within the E&M Function & across Airline Finance. • Leading and driving a culture of strong financial controls, compliance, and adherence to regulatory• frameworks; ensuring adherence to governance mechanisms for investments and capital expenditure, as well as owning the quarterly audit process within the AOCs in relation to all Maintenance reserves.• Leading by example to develop and implement a high performing team culture across a pan European function, supporting with performance and promoting talent through succession planning• Embedding a culture of continuous improvement in order to remove waste from processes and drive harmonization across the entire TUI Airline Finance team whilst championing digitalization activities. • Interfacing with the AOC and FP&A finance teams to provide robust financial information to support both functional and regional reporting requirements for forecast, actuals & plan processes• Providing leadership, strategic context, and guidance to a high performing team through developing and shaping a clear structure, providing direction to a wide team, and developing cultural awareness and understanding of the TUI Airline strategy• Coach your team and drive high performance and personal development at all levels• Leading by example, you will build management capability within your teams, reviewing your organisation and talent to support appropriate development opportunities for your team• Ensure your team understand the importance of leadership development by acting as a role model in making time for, and showing commitment to, your own development as a leader• Ensure solid, authentic, and robust employee engagement within your team• Our people are our most important asset and engaging and motivating your wider international team to fulfil their potential will be a priority• Deliver innovative and creative engagement solutions to create a cohesive and change ready community• Ensure managers are recognised as leaders in the business and are accountable and credible in their roles• Design and implement the structure, framework, and environment to ensure the right people are in the right roles, identify future talent, and cultivate an atmosphere aligned with our TUI values• Accelerate a data driven and data led decision making approach and create the environment and culture to enable continuous improvement in the operations with a focus on value and efficiency• As a Senior Leader, you’ll be expected to champion and promote collaboration in person and virtually
