As Finance Manager - Airframe Assets, you will be responsible for leading the financial optimisation of costs in relation to the Airframe Maintenance and Asset Management strategy. This should be done by establishing new processes and procedures to financially evaluate fleet decisions; optimise the airframe End of Lease (EOL) programme and airframe maintenance across Europe. You will be responsible for the provision of financial information and high-quality support on all aspects of finance, including 3-year strategic plans, budgetary ownership, business case development, performance evaluation, forecasting, and driving the business to deliver financial commitments.

This role is fundamental in the financial activities of the central Engineering and Maintenance reserving function, ensuring alignment across Aviation. The role is responsible for the c.€0.2bn balance sheet reserves for airframe assets, ensuring balances are accurate, aligned, up to date, well-presented and reported across all locations. This includes being the financial lead for technical accounting aspects of this area. The responsibility for this also extends to being the primary contact and person responsible for the audit in this area.

You'll provide a key interface in to both the AOC and FP&A finance teams for forecasting, planning and operational insight behind the numbers.

ABOUT THE JOB

As Finance Manager - Airframe Assets, you'll be responsible for:

• Providing world class finance business partnering support to Engineering and Fleet Management.
• Leading and delivering the budget & 3 year planning cycle outputs for Airframe Assets.
• Completing financial evaluations to Fleet Management, from an airframe asset perspective, in collaboration with AABM to support and substantiate the business case for fleet decisions; such as extensions, entry into service and end of lease
• Developing KPI & reporting packs to support fact-based decisions for the business by turning data into insight.
• Working in collaboration with Engineering & Maintenance (E&M) to develop a robust Winter Maintenance Plan strategy that optimises cost vs aircraft availability across all airlines ensuring the E&M facilities are best utilized.
• Driving a culture of cost efficiency across all business areas within role remit
• Embedding accurate balance sheet accountability within the area across all AOC's driving forward alignment, transparency, robust challenge, and analysis.
• Delivering a culture of strong financial controls, compliance, and adherence to regulatory
frameworks; ensuring adherence to governance mechanisms for provisions and local accounting standards
• Leading by example to support the development of a high performing team culture across a pan European function
• Supporting the audit process across all AOC's within the remit and aiming to drive a single audit approach with regards to the provision balance sheets.
• Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement to remove waste from processes and drive harmonization across the TUI Airline AOCs
• Supporting the Finance Business Partner - Reserves in delivering a consolidated view of the key financial reserves data to enable data driven decision making.
• Interfacing with the AOC and FP&A finance teams to provide robust financial information to support both functional and regional reporting requirements for forecast, actuals & plan processes.
• Supporting the TUI Airline Finance leadership team with the culture and development agenda

ABOUT YOU

• Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
• Management experience
• Structured and coordinated, with excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong business partnering skills and experience working in a matrix structure
• Able to plan and organize projects as well as coordinate between different parties.
• Ability to identify opportunities and optimisation of costs
• A strong and effective communicator with the proven ability to influence.
• This role requires strong business English (written & spoken).
• Experience of working within the aviation industry desirable
